Dry Fermentation

Another scaleable organic was treatment technology offered by Compost Paretners is a container based dry fermentation system. In this process, organic waste between 20 and 40 percent solids is anerobically fermented to produce biogas and heat. Biogas accounts for approximately 80% of the energy produced and can either be burned to produce electricity or delivered to market. The additional 20 percent of energy generated is in the form of heat and can be used for building heat or to regulate greenhouse enclosures. The spent solids can readily be stabilized with a properly sized composting system. The dry fermentation process boasts of less feedstock preparation, lower water consumption and smaller reactor vessels compared to AD (Anaerobic Digestion).
